Mystery shopping is the process of evaluating a company (unbeknownst to the company at the time) and reporting back so that they receive unbiased feedback on their processes, efficiency, experience, sales process, quality, etc. In return for providing this feedback, the Mystery Shopper will get either a payment (called a shop fee) or a reimbursement for products or both. 

Companies and Brands of all industries are looking for real, honest feedback to evaluate how their employees and themselves are performing as a business. The data and feedback you provide will be essential in the process of providing additional trainings or growth opportunities as needed but also to reward exceptional service to employees whom positively represent their company.

Your job as a Mystery Shopper is to collect all the data and findings the client is looking for. By doing so, you have the opportunity to be rewarded and paid for your evaluations, as well as keep any products you are required to purchase. Any required purchases will have the opportunity to be reimbursed - which means... free meals, products, services, experiences, travel, and so much more!

Anyone over the age of 18 can be a Mystery Shopper. You can Mystery Shop anywhere in the world, so even if you donʻt live in the US, you can become a Mystery Shopper and make money + get free things! 

You can shop anywhere that has shops available. It doesn't have to be where you sign up. You can Mystery Shop if you're on a work trip, going on vacation, or running weekly errands. I've Mystery Shopped in the US, Mexico, and Europe!

You can even perform mystery shops online, so you can stay in the comfort of your own home!

This totally depends on you, your area, and your goals. My goals are usually just to go have fun so I typically prioritize shops that have a high reimbursement over a higher cash payment. On average, I would say you will earn between $10-$50 per shop usually and most take only 10-30 minutes to complete. That being said, Iʻve been able to make on average $36+/hour. I know people who do this as a career who have made over $10k each month. Now $10k is definitely not the average, but with hard work and consistency it's possible!

Be advised, Mystery Shopping in the state of Nevada requires a Private Investigator License with a work permit from the Nevada Private Investigators Licensing Board which can cost anywhere from $80 to $140.
